These are the moments that remind us why we do the job. Proud of our guys for going above and beyond. Great job brothers!Last week, #CGFD firefighters Jesus Rivas (pictured) and Rich Haapala responded to help a man with Down syndrome who had suffered an ankle injury. He really took a liking to our crew—and our hats! Seeing how much he was going through, we let him wear one of our hats to cheer him up. His smile said it all, so we told him to keep it.
A few days later, he and his mom stopped by the station to say thank you—and brought us a gift so we could remember him too. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. ❤️🚒 #casagrandeaz #firefighters #CommunityStrong #Gratitude

In February alone, CGFD responded to 1,165 emergencies—that’s nearly 42 calls per day with the same number of fire stations and trucks we’ve had for years, despite our city’s rapid growth.
Our firefighters are doing more with less, but the reality is clear: we need more fire stations and trucks to keep up with demand. As response times grow and resources are stretched thin, investing in public safety is not a luxury—it’s a necessity.
We are proud to serve and protect our city. Thank you for your continued support—we’re always here when you need us!#CGFD's bravest answered 1,165 calls in February 2025-
679 were medical-related emergencies,
20 were fire-related incidents,
9 were HazMat-related incidents and
457 were other types of emergencies.
